Redwood City, California acupuncturist Randall Neustaedter, 65, was arrested Monday, July 13 for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient during an acupuncture session at his office.
A 27-year old woman accused Neustaedter of the assault after purchasing a series of appointments at his business, Cure Guide, from the discount website Groupon. The unidentified woman told investigators that after several visits, Neustaedter offered her a massage, whereupon he allegedly touched her genitals deliberately and inappropriately.
Deputies booked Neustadter on two counts of a forcible act of sexual penetration. Neustadter posted $200,000 bail and is due in court on August 21 for arraignment.
According to his website cure-guide.com, Neustaedter graduated from UC-Berkeley where he studied English literature and creative writing. After completing his training at San Francisco College of Acupuncture, Neustaedter practiced homeopathy for and Oriental medicine for more than 30 years.
