Well-Known Baltimore Shrink Loses License After He Molested Female Patients

Prominent Baltimore Psychiatrist and pain specialist, Dr. Nelson Hendler, was arrested for sexually assaulting a female patient that joined his practice in 2004. Hendler supposedly convinced the woman, who was in a highly unstable state, that only he could help her. Once he had gathered her trust he then took advantage of her. The woman brought a civil suit against him, which was subsequently settled out of court. Unfortunately, the woman was not an isolated case. Many of his victims were highly dependent on medication so Hendler prescribed drugs in exchange for sexual favors. On mulitple counts of medical misconduct the Maryland Board of Physicians revoked his license in 2006.
