Washington Gynecologist convicted of raping multiple patients, providing drugs without prescriptions

Charles Momah was arrested and convicted of raping and molesting multiple female patients. Prosecutors alleged that Momah performed gynecological exams without wearing gloves, flirted with and touched patients inappropriately, and probed them unnecessarily with a vaginal ultrasound wand. He was also alleged to have provided prescription drugs to his patients without medical necessity.

In 2007 a King County jury awarded three of Momah’s victims $2.2 million in damages, adding to his 20 year prison sentence of 2005.
