A former doctor in Spokane, Washington and Meridian, Mississippi, who was initially accused of drugging and raping a 13-year-old boy in Washington last October, now faces 27 additional charges that he traveled to across country to Mississippi and videotaped sex with other young boys. Craig Morgenstern, 46, pleaded not guilty to all 36 charges he currently faces, including aggravated sexual assault of a child and production of child pornography and transporting children across state lines with the intent to sexually abuse them. He is being held without bail at the Spokane County Jail.
This most recent indictment brings the victim total to six, with crimes occurring in Washington, Idaho and Mississippi.
Morgenstern worked as an ER doctor at NAS-Meridian from 2003 to 2007 and Spokane VA Medical Center starting in 2008. He faces a minimum 30 years in prison and mandatory registration as a sex offender.
