Rhode Island anesthesiologist has license revoked for accusations of sexual assault, providing unnecessary drugs for treatment

Dr. Russell J. Aubin had his license suspended amid allegations that he fondled a 21 year old soccer player during knee surgery. Dr. Aubin claimed it was consensual, and that the victim asked for a “massage,” but records indicated that he gave the victim an unnecessary dose of benedryl to induce sleep. Mr. Aubin was acquitted of criminal charges, but his license suspension was upheld in a civil trial. He has since been reinstated after undergoing therapy.
