A Hearing Committee of the New York State Board for Professional Medical Misconduct revoked the license of Byron Major, a Manhattan Plastic Surgeon, after he allegedly anesthetized and subsequently raped a female patient. The woman had returned to his office after a breast implant surgery due to excess pain from the procedure. Although Major was initially convicted of rape the case was thrown out due to mistakes by the prosecution and the DA declined to retry the case.
